The 25th session of the National Religious Groups Joint Conference was themed around the “Patriotic Education Law” (hereinafter “Law” for short).
The "Joint Initiative on Studying, Propagating, and Implementing the ‘Patriotic Education Law’ to Inherit and Promote the Spirit of Patriotism" was released during the conference held at the China Islamic Association on January 4, said CCC&TSPM.
The “Patriotic Education Law” was passed on October 24 last year and came into effect on January 1 this year.
The conference viewed the formulation and implementation of the law as a significant measure for the Party and the nation to deepen patriotic education. It emphasized that national religious groups must consistently "adhere to Xi Jinping's thoughts on socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era, consciously adhere to the direction of the sinicization of religion in China, and effectively transform educational achievements into practical actions for patriotism and serving the country."
The initiative advocated four principles: "upholding the unity of loving the country, the Party, and socialism"; "promoting the fine traditions of patriotism"; "infusing outstanding Chinese traditional culture into China's religions"; and "persistently conducting patriotic education and practical activities."
It was attended by members of the standing committees and the secretary general (general secretary) of distinct national religious groups, as well as representatives from the YMCA & YWCA in China.

据中国基督教两会，1月4日，全国性宗教团体联席会议第25次会议在中国伊斯兰教协会举行。会议以学习宣传贯彻爱国主义教育法为主题，发布了《关于学习宣传贯彻爱国主义教育法 传承弘扬爱国主义精神的共同倡议》。
会议认为，制定和施行爱国主义教育法是党和国家深化爱国主义教育的重大举措，全国性宗教团体要始终坚持以习近平新时代中国特色社会主义思想为指导，自觉坚持我国宗教中国化方向，切实把学习教育成果转化为爱国报国的实际行动。
倡议书主张四个坚持：坚持爱国和爱党、爱社会主义相统一；坚持弘扬爱国主义优良传统；坚持用中华优秀传统文化浸润我国宗教和坚持开展爱国主义教育实践活动。
各全国性宗教团体驻会班子成员、秘书长（总干事）参加会议，中华基督教青年会、女青年会全国协会负责人列席。
2023年10月24日，《中华人民共和国爱国主义教育法》通过，今年1月1日起施行。
