From October 21 to 25, a five-member delegation from the National Council of YMCAs of China (NCY China) traveled to Kenya to attend the YMCA Accelerator Summit in Mombasa.
The summit was jointly organized by the World Alliance of YMCAs, the Africa Alliance of YMCAs, and Kenya YMCA, said YMCA-YWCA in China. It brought together over 450 participants from 60 countries and regions. Attendees included YMCA leadership members and volunteer leaders, as well as YMCA partners such as foundations, businesses, academic institutions, other youth organizations, and nonprofit representatives.
The Chinese delegation comprised members of NCY China, including Vice President Zhao Xiaoyang, Board Member Chen Wanshun, General Secretary Hao Zhiqiang, volunteer Mr. Huang Haibo, as well as Deputy General Secretary Dai Ting of the Chengdu YMCA.
Delegates participated in plenary sessions, workshops, seminars, group discussions, and field visits based on mission-related topics. They explored professional approaches to advancing the four pillars of the YMCA Vision 2030 and learned from global best practices and project models. Additionally, they shared and showcased the achievements and unique initiatives of the YMCA China in areas such as peace education, sustainable development, youth empowerment, community service, and meaningful work.
Furthermore, the delegation held exchanges with the Secretary-General of the World Alliance of YMCAs and the Asia and Pacific Alliance of YMCAs. Exploring potential future collaboration and exchange projects, they also engaged in discussions with representatives from the YMCAs of the United States, Germany, Japan, Singapore, as well as the YMCA of Hong Kong, and the Chinese YMCA of Hong Kong.
10月21日至25日,中华基督教青年会全国协会代表团一行五人前往肯尼亚出席世协蒙巴萨事工推进峰会。
本次峰会由基督教青年会世界协会(以下简称“世协”)与非洲基督教青年会联盟和肯尼亚基督教青年会全国协会合作举办。参会代表共有450余名,来自60个国家和地区。参与者不只是包括青年会的leadership成员和义工领袖,又有青年会的合作伙伴,如基金会、企业、学术机构、其他青年组织与非营利组织的代表等。
中国代表团由“全国协会”的赵晓阳副会长、陈万顺理事、蒿志强总干事、志愿者黄海波先生及成都基督教青年会代婷副总干事组成。
代表们根据事工开展关联的议题,参与此次峰会的全体大会、工作坊、研讨会、小组讨论以及实地考察。他们了解世界及其他青年会推动世协2030愿景四大支柱的专业化思路,学习借鉴全球范围内优秀的工作经验和项目模式;同时也围绕和平教育、可持续发展、青年赋能、社区服务、有意义的工作等主题分享和展示了中国青年会的成果和特色。
此外,代表团分别应邀与世界协会、亚洲及太平洋区域协会总干事进行了交流;并与美国、德国、日本、新加坡、香港基督教青年会、香港中华基督教青年会等与会代表进行对话,探讨未来合作交流项目的可能性。
