The “International Humanitarian Relief Project” of the Amity Foundation was selected as one of the top ten best cases of "Chinese Social Organizations Going Global" at the first Asian Philanthropy Forum (APF).
From November 16 to 17, about 400 Chinese and foreign guests from social organizations in 16 Asian countries and regions, as well as 15 international organizations, participated in the forum held at Hainan University in person and virtually.
At the opening of the forum, at the invitation of the foundation, Rudelmar Bueno de Faria, general secretary of the ACT Alliance, delivered a speech themed “New Situation and Mission of Charity."
Mr. Liu Xuanguo, vice dean of the International Academy of Red Cross and Red Crescent of Soochow University, remarked, “The Amity Foundation is not only one of the earliest institutions in China to initiate a project for international humanitarian assistance but also one of the few foundations with offices abroad. The project has successively carried out humanitarian assistance in the Philippines, North Korea, Kenya, Nepal, Ecuador, Sri Lanka, and Ethiopia, having raised a total of more than 20 million yuan in funds and benefited more than 250,000 people. After the disaster occurred, the Amity Foundation collected and followed up on the situation closely. The foundation responded to the fire in a timely manner based on its own capabilities after the appeal for help from the disaster-stricken country, with international humanitarian relief established."
On the afternoon of November 16, Qiu Zhonghui, the board chair of the foundation, gave a keynote speech titled "Consensus and Co-Establishment of Public Credibility in the Public Welfare Industry" at the “Modern Philanthropy Culture and Practice” sub-forum of the Amity Chuanyi Philanthropy Culture Fund. Mr. Qiu analyzed the current situation of the industry from the angles of resources, confidence, competence, and credibility. He suggested that credibility be jointly established through the entire industry, the entire process, and all aspects, based on the enlightenment of existing industry experience. Secretary General Ling Chunxiang hosted the “Inheritance and Innovation of Public Welfare Thought” roundtable talk of this sub-forum.
On November 17, Ling shared opinions on “How Social Organizations Participate in Promoting Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)” at the “Digital Technology Helps Social Organizations Participate in Promoting SDGs” sub-forum.
It was reported that this APF, based in Hainan and radiating across Asia with a global impact, is committed to building a platform for intellectual exchange and cross-sector collaboration for diverse sectors of society. It aims to explore new challenges in global sustainable development, emerging trends in philanthropic development, and new approaches to addressing significant social issues. From an Asian perspective, the forum sought to discuss new situations and missions in the development of public welfare, promoting cross-sector and cross-regional exchange and collaboration.

11月16日下午,在由爱德传一基金主办的“现代慈善公益文化与实践”分论坛上,爱德的丘仲辉理事长以《共识共创公益行业的公信力建设》为题作了主题发言。从资源、信心、能力和公信力等角度出发,分析了当前公益行业的现实处境。对已有行业经验为现实带来的启示作出分析,并建议应该通过全行业、全流程、全方位共创公信力建设。凌春香秘书长主持该分论坛“公益思想传承与创新”圆桌讨论。
11月17日,凌春香秘书长出席由中国国际民间组织合作促进会主办的“数字科技助力社会组织参与推进 SDG ”分论坛,就“社会组织如何参与推进落实SDGs”议题在圆桌讨论上进行分享。
