Among the children of believers, some also have congenital defects, which may range from mild to severe. In some families, at least one parent must dedicate herself to caring for their child, abandoning normal work and social activities. Over time, this can lead to diverse psychological issues.
For example, one female Christian's daughter was born unable to speak. We once learned that although she could say "dad" and "mom" from a young age, she was now in her twenties and could only speak a few simple words. She could only perform tasks within her abilities and could not be self-reliant in many aspects. Cooking independently and holding a job were virtually impossible for her. She required her parents' assistance to live. Over the past two decades, her family members have given up their careers and traveled far and wide seeking medical solutions for their daughter. Due to economic difficulties, they eventually stopped seeking medical help and instead focused full-time on taking care of their child.
As a family of believers, the female believer also reflected on the situation. Since the whole family believed in God, they should receive blessings, but their daughter encountered such misfortune. They haven't done anything wrong, but their daughter's condition was worse than that of other children. They had been actively seeking medical treatment since discovering their daughter's problem, but she wasn’t cured.
With all these doubts and no timely guidance, she started to doubt her faith and began to blame God. Consequently, after some time had passed since discovering her daughter's issue, she and her husband stopped attending church gatherings. They didn't even go to important festivals, seemingly severing their connection with God. This state of affairs had lasted for over ten years.
Through a chance encounter, we got to know this family and learned about their situation. Upon hearing her talk about her daughter and the struggles with her faith, we expressed empathy and encouraged her to return to the church. We told her that every person was unique in God's eyes and that those who followed God would continue to improve.
After several conversations with her, she brought her daughter back to the church. They rarely missed any gatherings, and her daughter attended events in several churches, particularly enjoying those activities for children. When she participated in these gatherings, she was filled with joy and had an innocent smile on her face.
This Christian woman observed that no one in the church rejected or mocked her daughter but rather welcomed, embraced, and accepted her. Her daughter was also eager to participate in a variety of events, which gradually helped her let go of her previous grievances and dissatisfaction. Instead, she felt like a new convert, rejoining the extended family of God and starting anew.
