All things we possess are from God, including money and time. Therefore, it’s natural that we give them to God in the form of tithes and offerings.
A female believer named Xiaoyin, hailing from a remote village, was admitted to college. However, her parents were quite worried about the expensive tuition and monthly living expenses they needed to cover for her. After working tirelessly for a year, they finally managed to barely collect enough money for the tuition, but they could not guarantee regular monthly living expenses for her.
While attending college, she learned about tithing from the Bible, but she realized that she was not financially capable of paying tithes at the moment. Nevertheless, Xiaoyin did not want to appear empty-handed before the Lord. She decided to walk to church instead of taking the bus so that she could save two yuan each time and put the money saved into the offering box. It would take around half an hour to walk from school to the church, which meant it would take approximately one hour to go back and forth. She continued this practice for about two years until she moved to the new campus located in the suburbs, making it impractical for her to walk to the church.
By chance, Xiaoyin discovered a campus fellowship on the new campus. Despite attending classes, participating in school club activities during her spare time, and doing part-time jobs, she served as the host of the campus fellowship and the leader of the Bible study group, the prayer group, and the caring group. During her service, Xiaoyin prepared well and spent time reading scriptures, praying, and caring for other believers.
As human beings, our time on earth is limited and in God’s hands. Thus, dedicating our time to Him is an honor and grace from God. We Should not procrastinate or wait until old age to serve Him, as none of us knows what will happen next.
