An academic symposium with the theme Individuals, Organizations, and Cultures Spanning across East and West will be held at the University of Shanghai on September 25.
Co-sponsored by the Shanghai Historical Society and the History Department at the College of Liberal Arts, Shanghai University, the seminar will include many related academic lectures held by professors and professionals from Shanghai University, Shanghai Library, Shandong University, and Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences.
These lectures cover "The Record of a Hangzhou Christian", "Spanning East and West: Christianity and Modern Chinese Intellectuals", "The Collision and Integration between Christianity and Mohism from Late Ming Dynasties to Early Qing", "Multiple Faces of Modern Japan’s Anti-War Christians", "Modern Chinese Christian Identity and Moral Image —— Interpretation of Wu Peifu’s Letter to Feng Yuxiang", "Negotiation and Judgment in the Aiding the Enemy Case of Eastern Orthodox Archbishop Victor", "Dora Yu and the Chinese Church Revival Movement in the Early 20th Century", "Missionary’s View of Chinese Buddhism in Late Qing Dynasty —— A research centered on The Chinese Recorder and Missionary Journal", and "The Group of Modern Chinese American in China and Overseas Image of China".
