Beijing launched the first forum on the sinicization of Christianity, which was themed "Unity.”
CCC&TSPM said that on October 20, at the Beijing Conference Center, a seminar was held with the theme of "Systematic Theology" in Christian Orthodoxy. The goal of the seminar was to create a theological framework for localizing Christianity and encourage its integration with Chinese traditional culture.
At the opening, Rev. Wu Wei, president of the China Christian Council (CCC), emphasized that the sinicization of Christianity was the surest way to ensure the continuity and development of Chinese Christianity. He said that we should explore doctrines and rules to promote social harmony and development as well as cultural progress while maintaining traditional beliefs, core doctrines, and liturgy. Rev. Wu also elaborated on Christian doctrines and regulations according to the development of contemporary China and Chinese traditional culture.
The forum encompassed group discussions on “History and Current Situation of the Sinicization of Christianity,” “Definition and Factors of Theology,” “Relationships Among Theology and Other Disciplines,” and “Methods and Classifications of Theology.” Additionally, attending guests were invited to visit the Beijing Sinicized Christianity Cultural Exhibition Hall.
Over 200 experts and academics from Beijing's universities and research institutions took part in the "Unity" seminar, which was hosted by the School of Philosophy at Renmin University of China, the Beijing Committee of the Three-Self Patriotic Movement (TSPM), and the Beijing Christian Council (CC), in collaboration with the Research Institute of Religion at Minzu University of China.

北京市首届基督教中国化“合一”研讨会在北京开幕。
据中国基督教两会,10月20日,在北京会议中心,研讨会围绕基督教正统信仰认定的“系统神学”主题,推进基督教信仰与中国传统文化相结合,建立中国化基督教神学思想体系。
中国基督教协会会长吴巍牧师在讲话中强调,坚持基督教中国化是中国基督教自身健康传承和发展的必由之路。他说道在保持基本信仰、核心教义、礼仪制度的同时,深入挖掘教义教规中有利于社会和谐、时代进步、健康文明的内容。并且对教规教义作出符合当代中国发展进步要求、中华优秀传统文化的阐释。
研讨会还将以“基督教中国化的历史与现状”“神学的定义、构成因素”“神学与其他学科的关系”“神学的方法、分类”为主题开展分组研讨,并组织到会嘉宾参观北京市基督教中国化展示中心。
本次“合一”研讨会由北京市民族宗教事务委员会指导,中国人民大学哲学院、北京市基督教三自爱国运动委员会、北京市基督教教务委员会主办,中央民族大学宗教研究院协办。来自在京高校及科研机构专家学者,全国和北京基督教界教牧同工 200余人参加。
