James 5:16 says, “So then, make a statement of your sins to one another, and say prayers for one another so that you may be made well. The prayer of a good man is full of power in its working.”
This verse flashed into my brain when a female believer shared a testimony of her seriously-ill husband being healed by God in a church gathering on October 1st last year.
As a migrant worker, the female Believer (called J for short) took part in the local church activities, while her husband and son were both in their native places. One day, she suddenly received her son’s call that her husband was seriously ill and she should hurry back. Hearing the news, she hurried to buy a ticket back to her native place. When she arrived at the hospital, her husband was already bedridden, unable to talk, eat or recognize anyone. The doctor told her that the CT and MRI results showed that her seriously ill husband was dying and that she should prepare for the funeral. It would take a miracle even to just keep her husband in a vegetative state, the doctor added. J felt heavy with great pain. Shutting herself in the room, she knelt on the ground, praying to God, “God! I believe in you, as I am your daughter. Don't let me suffer this horrible thing. Please forgive my husband's sin and mine. Wish you heal him with medicine and your power.” Then, she prayed with tears at all times and made fasting prayers, in addition, to nurse her husband in the hospital.
Amazing grace! On the fifth day after being declared "dying", her husband actually moved his legs, even very powerfully. The doctor was quite strange and said, “Why could a patient who cannot move at all move his leg so powerfully?” This not only greatly increased the confidence of J, but also made the doctors feel hopeful. They changed the medical plans, taking various measures to treat him.
Seeing the hope and the effect of prayer, J was more confident and continued to pray many times a day for God’s healing.
On the seventh day, with the help of J's prayer and the doctor's treatment, her husband actually woke up. Having all of the intubates pulled out of him, he was able to eat liquid food and to move both his hands and feet. After a few days, he could even hobble out of bed with the assistance of his wife.
J continued to pray in gratitude. The doctor was still surprised, “How could he recover so quickly without miracle drug or imported medicines? As this has never happened among similar patients.” J said to herself, “you don't understand because you don’t believe in the Lord. This is because of the prayers for healing by the Lord! Thank the Lord!”
On the 12th day of the husband’s admission, his two sons saw that their father was able to walk with assistance without any medicine from the hospital. They let their mother get their father discharged from the hospital since there was no further treatment. Then they asked the attending doctor about the matter. On that day, all the experts, doctors, and nurses in the department visited him in his ward, feeling strange about how he could be cured as he was so ill, as his chances of survival were slim and he did not take any specific medicine. They believed that it was because of their medicinal skill, but J knew in her heart that it was the prayer that moved the Lord and the result of the Lord's care and healing.
After being discharged from the hospital, he returned home to recuperate. Every day, J helped him to do rehabilitation training. Little by little, he changed from walking on one leg to walking slowly on both legs; from being unable to speak to being able to speak in vague language; from urinating and defecating on the bed to gradually doing so in the bathroom; and from just walking inside the room to walking outside slowly.
One day, J told her husband, "Today, members of the church are coming to see you. You should get up instead of lying down all the time." Her husband nodded to show his understanding. When the church staff came for a visit, he actually stood up instead of lying down. All of them were happy for him in thanking and praising God.
Her husband was basically recovered, but his old illness relapsed two years later, which was even worse than the last time. The doctor checked the previous MRI and CT images, asking, “Is this man still alive?” The family nodded. The doctor decided it was an incurable illness again, reminding the family to prepare for the funeral. The sons also discussed with their mother about the funeral. J said firmly to her sons, “Don't be afraid. I am a child of the Lord. Keep praying for healing by God!” In the end, God heard the prayer. With general treatment, he was healed by God, recovered, and discharged from the hospital again.
When the husband was cured twice and was able to take care of himself in a small area, J took him from his hometown to the place where she worked, taking him to church gatherings. On the National Day of 2021, when the church celebrated the Autumn Harvest Festival, she helped him to the altar and witnessed that he was healed by the Lord. During about half an hour's testimony, he kept standing on the stage, without any help or crutches, smiling happily. From his appearance, no one could tell that he was such a seriously ill patient. When the testimony was over, saying "Amen!", he applauded with others to thank God for His grace.

奇异恩典！就在被医生宣布“不行”的第五天，丈夫竟然腿能动了，而且很有力。医生很奇怪：这样的病人根本都不能动，他为什么腿能动，而且很有力？这个情况，不仅让姊妹信心大增，而且医生也感觉有希望了，又改变医疗方案，积极采取多种办法来治疗。
看到了希望，看到了祷告带来的果效，姊妹信心更足，每天继续多次祷告，求神医治。
真的是奇异恩典！从第七天开始，在姊妹的祷告和医生的治疗下，这位弟兄居然清醒过来，拔掉了身上各种各样的插管，能吃流食，手脚都能动了。再过了几天，甚至可以在姊妹的搀扶下，下病床蹒跚地走路了！
祷告，姊妹在感恩中继续祷告。医生还是感到奇怪：在同类型的病人当中，没有出现过这种情况啊！而且这个病号也没有用什么特效药、进口药啊，他怎么就能够恢复这么快呢？姊妹还是在心里想：你不信主，你不懂，这是祷告蒙主医治！感谢主！
真的是奇异恩典！到了这位弟兄入院的第十二天。两个儿子看到父亲竟然能在搀扶下走路了、医院也不给打什么药了。问母亲：既然不打针、不吃药了，那让我爸爸出院吧。于是他们就问了医院的主治医生。那一天医院这个科的所有专家、医生和护士都到他的病房看望他，因为他们还是觉得奇怪：这个人病这么重，成活的几率微乎其微，也没打什么药，怎么就好了呢？他们还自以为是自己的医术多么高明，可是姊妹心里还是明白：这是祷告震动了主的宝座，这是主的保守和医治的结果。
真的是奇异恩典！姊妹的丈夫出院后，回到了家里养病，每天姊妹搀拉着他做康复的训练。一点点的，他由一条腿能走路，变为两条腿都能慢慢的走路；由不能说话表达，变为可以模糊的用语言来说话；由大小便都在床上，变为逐渐可以到卫生间去了；由只是在屋里走，可以到外面慢慢的走了。
有一天，姊妹告诉她丈夫：今天教会的弟兄姊妹要来看你，你可要起来，不要老是躺着。弟兄点点头，表示明白。当探视他的同工来到的时候，他真的站起来，不再躺着了，大家都为他高兴，感谢、赞美神。
本来这位弟兄身体基本康复以后挺好的，不料两年以后，旧病复发。这次比前一次还严重。到了医院，医生看了之前拍的核磁和CT片子之后说：这个人还活着吗？家属说是啊。医生再次定为不治之症，让家属准备料理后事。儿子们也和母亲商量后事怎么办。姊妹坚定的对孩子说：你们不要怕，我是信主的人，继续祷告，靠神医治！最后的结果还是神垂听了祷告，仅仅靠一般的治疗，蒙神的医治，弟兄再次康复出院。
当这位弟兄两次病得医治，逐渐恢复肢体活动和生活，能够在小的范围自理后，姊妹把她从老家带到了打工的所在地，并且带他去教堂聚会。2021年国庆节，教会举行秋收感恩节的时候，她扶着这位弟兄登上了圣台，做了靠主得医治的见证。在长达约半个小时的见证过程，弟兄始终站立在台上，也不靠搀拉、不靠拐杖，而且始终是喜乐的笑。外表来看，真的看不出是一个那么病重的病人，当见证结束的时候，他在话筒里还说“阿们！”并且和会众一起鼓掌，感谢神恩。
