Here are two stories of believers who live out their faith.
A Christian woman with the surname of Li doesn’t seek to profit at the expense of others.
Li always felt cold recently, so her niece bought her an eiderdown quilt without telling her. Receiving the eiderdown, she wanted to buy a quilt cover, not expecting to receive a duvet cover from her daughter-in-law, who ordered one for herself on the Internet but got two. It just so happened that her mother-in-law needed it.
Li said they should return it, as the merchant had made a mistake. Her daughter-in-law said she would return it if the seller asked her about it, otherwise, she wouldn’t give it back, as she didn’t know who would pay for the courier fee. Hearing these words, she prayed to the Lord that the quilt could be mailed back.
The next day, she was happy to know that the extra quilt cover was bought at a discount, saying they should live in a good conscience rather than gain an extra advantage.
Another female believer surnamed Yu said, “I can’t ignore it when finding what I can help to do.”
On a cold winter’s day, on the way to see her dentist, Yu found one of the iron fences was loose. In order to protect trees in the landscape belt on both sides of the road, the government staff enclosed them with iron sheets.
With the idea of fixing it, she went to the hospital first, suffering from toothache. But she forgot about it, as she didn't return on the original road.
Some days later, when passing by again, she saw that the iron sheet had been rolled over, which seemed ugly and could not protect trees.
Without hesitation, she took a detour through the motorway to the damaged place. Finding a plastic bag, she tore it into strips by hand, twisting them into plastic ropes to fix the broken iron sheet. So the guardrail was restored to its original appearance.
A sanitation worker came over to give a thumbs-up, saying that the iron sheet had been damaged for a long time, but no passers-by did it like her. Yu said, “Now that I see it, I should repair it, as I am a Christian.”
