Amity Foundation’s relief team arrived in four cities and counties of Shanxi Province to provide disaster relief after the torrential rain hit the province in early October.
On Saturday, the National Commission for Disaster Reduction and the Ministry of Emergency Management jointly activated a Level-IV disaster relief emergency response to the recent floods in China’s northern Shanxi Province. At the same time, the faith-based Amity Foundation opened several online channels to collect donations, according to the foundation.
In addition, arriving in Shanxi as quickly as possible, Amity’s rescue team conducted disaster investigations and participated in the distribution of relief materials in Jiexiu City and Qi County in Jinzhong City, Daning County in Linfen City, and Xiaoyi City in Lvliang City.
A few days ago, Beijing ByteDance Charity Foundation announced a donation of 50 million yuan to help the flood victims in Shanxi by providing emergency supplies and repairing schools and local historical sites after the disaster. On October 11, the foundation once again donated two million yuan to Amity to carry out the flood relief work in Shanxi, purchasing the first batch of 2500 quilts from Hebei Province which were delivered to Songgu Township, Jiexiu City, Jinzhong City.
Furthermore, the second batch of Amity materials were delivered on October 10-11 to Xiaoyi City, Jiaocheng County and Wenshui County of Lvliang City. The supplies included 2,400 barrels of instant noodles, 48 boxes of ham sausage, 170 headlights, 70 cotton coats, 170 pairs of gloves, and 3,200 disposable masks.

日前,北京字节跳动公益基金会宣布捐赠5000万元用于援助山西水灾受灾群众、提供应急物资、灾后学校的修缮以及当地古迹的修复。10月11日,字节跳动公益基金会再次向爱德基金会捐赠200万元,共同开展山西水灾救援工作,通过该笔善款支持的首批2500床棉被从河北出发,并已于当晚运抵山西晋中介休市宋古乡。
此外,10月10日至11日,第二批爱德物资也已先后分批运抵山西省吕梁市孝义市、交城县和文水县。该批物资包括2400桶方便面、48箱火腿肠、170个头灯、70件棉大衣、170副手套和3200只一次性口罩等。
