The Beijing Young Women’s Christian Association (BYWCA) and Women’s Federation of Mentougou held housekeeping training for over 120 low-income housewives on Feb. 15th and 16th, 2017.

According to the BYWCA website, 2017 is the fourth year for training paid for by the government targeting poverty alleviation.  Trainees came from Yanchi Town and Malan Village in the mountainous area of Mentougou, and there were courses in Professional Ethics of Housekeeping, Elderly Care Theory, Child Care, Family Cooking Skills, and more.

Trainees gained understanding about housekeeping at the training, as well as improving their standard service consciousness, mastering basic service skills, and laying the foundation for employment with urban families. Qualifying trainees received a certificate of completion printed by the Beijing Bureau of Human Resources and Social Security.
