Have you ever felt so tired that you just want to quit? Have you ever felt so burdened by all the tasks ahead of you that you don't know what to do anymore? You don't know how to manage your time anymore. You're lacking sleep from too much work and your body is drained.

Ever felt like that?

If it could all just stop, right?

But it can't.

There are times that we have to push through even though we're exhausted. We have to run before we walk so that we don't get left behind. This is a biblical principle.

Most successful people worked really hard first before they attained their successes. They gave their tasks their all despite the odds and the toll that it was taking on their bodies. But afterwards, when they have met their goals, they don't have to run anymore. They begin walking and reap the benefits of all their hard work and endurance.

But let's admit it, the running part is hard. It's exhausting.

At times like these when we begin to feel weak, let's not forget that we have a source of strength whose arms are wide open for us when we need it.

The Lord is my strength and my shield;

my heart trusts in him, and he helps me.

My heart leaps for joy,

and with my song I praise him.

-Psalm 28:7 NIV

The Lord becomes our strength when we choose to trust in Him. His abilities do not end when ours do and He never gets tired. His grace enables us to continue when we can't go on with our own strength anymore. He becomes our enablement when we give Him all our burdens. That is why trust is necessary.

I can describe it this way. Being a worship leader, I get assigned to sing a lot, and sometimes my vocal chords get really tired. One time, because there was no other choice, I was assigned to lead worship at one of my church's Bible Study of over fifty people. My voice was tired that day but I agreed to lead. "Help me, Lord," I prayed. When I started singing, I was able to sing effortlessly and quite flawlessly, and as I was listening to myself, I was thinking, "Oh, wow, this isn't me." God enabled me and it was supernatural. All glory belongs to Him.

See, when God tells us to do something and we can't do it, He does it for us. He works it out through us. His strength then takes the place of our weakness, supernaturally. Is anything too hard for Him?

Let the weak say, "I am strong." -Joel 3:10

The Lord will back us up in whatever things we undertake as long as we trust in Him and rely on His grace to see us through. Apart from Him, we can do absolutely nothing (John 15:5). All our abilities are from Him anyway for a person cannot receive one thing unless it is given Him from heaven (John 3:27). What we have right now, our jobs, our ministries, whatever it is; they are all from Him.

The Lord is my strength and my shield;

my heart trusts in him, and he helps me.

My heart leaps for joy,

and with my song I praise him.

-Psalm 28:7 NIV

Now, let's look at the last two lines of this Psalm.

My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him.

As the Lord gives us strength, let's not forget to praise Him for His goodness and for His faithfulness. Also, let's not forget to thank Him for all that He's done.

God is good. He's our ever present help in times of need.

When we're tired, let's lean on Him for strength. In doing so, we get to experience a kind of peace and satisfaction that can only come from trusting Him. It is fulfilling. It is refreshing even. But, we must decide to depend on Him.

He is our strength if we choose to. And if we do, He is faithful.
