A centennial church in Guangdong Province is launching a series of events for "Caring for Mothers Month" in May.
To mark "Mother's Day," which falls on the second Sunday of May every year, Guangzhou's Guangxiao Church has declared May "Mother's Month."
Last Sunday, the church held three activities, including "Gratitude Witness Sharing for Mother's Month," "Caring for Mothers—Rational Exam Support," and "Mother's Day Reading Sharing Session for 'The Course of Maternal Love'."
On May 14, the day of Mother's Day, two special worship services are to be held in the morning and afternoon. Following the morning worship service, there will be a family photo shoot. In the afternoon, there will be a tour of Guangxiao Church with check-in activities and prizes. In the evening, the church is about to host a special prayer meeting for entrance examinations for senior high school or university.
Moreover, this megachurch is also conducting a "Cares for Mothers in Difficulties" charity event this May. It is planning to distribute 200 blessing bags (each worth about 100 yuan) to mothers in difficult circumstances within the church and community. They may be divorced, lose their only child or work, have sick children, or be living alone and elderly.
