Recently, a black American named George Floyd has been mercilessly killed by a policeman, which has raised Christians’ reflection on reality. Why can't justice be realized in the world? Why does everyone use his own view of justice to measure the world? Perhaps it is because everyone has a unique interpretation of the law.
It was reported that many people in the United States gathered near the White House recently, and claimed about this matter. They also wanted to know whether it is a matter of human rights, justice, or prejudice (black people have been discriminated against).
Everyone wants to be treated with justice, not prejudice. In Psalms 73 of Asaph, a question is being discussed: "The wicked get the prosperity, and the righteous suffer." What is a wicked person? What is a righteous person? This is worth pondering. Such standards and principles are not established by man. And man cannot judge others by his own value. For God, everyone is a sinner.
In Psalm 73:3,” For I envied the arrogant when I saw the prosperity of the wicked.” This was the thought of the poet before entering the Temple. He did not understand why the wicked got the prosperity and the righteous suffered (a question of injustice). But when he entered (thinking of God's sovereignty) and thought about the ending of these wicked people, he realized that justice would come one day, and God's righteous wisdom would fill the earth.
It is a mystery that there are the wicked in this world. According to the Bible, the time for these people has not yet arrived under His permission. God's promise to Abraham mentioned that his descendants would return to the land of Canaan after 400 years of suffering in Egypt because the sins of the Amorites were not yet full. God gave sinners (Amorites) time and opportunity for repentance. No matter how great the sin is, there is a chance to turn back. What is terrible is not to turn back and finally be severely judged by God.
The world is full of injustice since sin has not stopped. So justice must rely on the salvation and power of Jesus.
Living a righteous life is difficult. Everyone focused much on his own interests, and once be offended, the so-called justice between people would break.
The college entrance examination is around the corner, many students can only be admitted to a university through unremitting efforts, but for those who a family background, it is easy to go to a prestigious school without excellent grades, get a diploma and enter a company. Some companies give priority to students with a family and background. So even ordinary students who graduated from prestigious schools without a family background will be rejected.
Some people say this world is unfair, only after having money and status then could we have enough right to speak. For those who take shortcuts and can easily reap the fruits without hard work, they do not have a concept of justice, which is indeed unfair to those who work hard. Therefore, it is difficult to face a cruel reality without the Christian faith.
When thinking from Christian faith, you will not be distraught, but more grateful, more thinking about living for God and live a righteous life. Do not judge the sin, for God is justice, He will judge.
In the process of serving, I often heard brothers and sisters in the church talking about being treated unfairly because of salary, school enrollment, age, and other issues. But Christians rely on God. Without this faith, we would be disappointed in reality and lose hope in God. Don’t force others to do righteous things. Let’s first consider whether we are a righteous person and unfair to others?
Therefore, the key reason why people can't live righteousness is not knowing God, not accepting the change of faith, not having the moral and righteous view of the Bible, and being induced by material interests and sin.
Till I entered the sanctuary of God; then I understood their final destiny... Yet I am always with you; you hold me by my right hand. You guide me with your counsel, and afterward you will take me into glory. Whom have I in heaven but you? And earth has nothing I desire besides you. My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. (Psalm 73:17, 23-26)
