The Christian musician Frank Shu released the MV sidelights of his new hymn “Only You Can Understand Me".
On August 7th, 2021, the hymn released was written and sung by Shu, while the MV was directed by Peter Xu and filmed in Qingdao. Now it is in post-production.
When talking about the inspiration for this song, the musician said, "This is a love song for Jesus and was inspired by Psalm 73. My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever."
"The first time I heard this song," said Peter Xu, "I was deeply attracted by it... I also met Jesus' love and company in this song."
"This poem is to sing the feeling of helplessness," Shu said, "I also want everyone to know that there is a Lord who is our best friend. He is with us all the time and embraces us with nail-pierced hands so that we are not alone."
Before shooting the MV, the staff of Glory Music Entertainment Ministry that produces the piece prayed together, "My Lord, this is a song written to you. We really want to shoot it successfully and tell people with beautiful pictures."
