The film, War for the Planet of the Apes, was nominated for best visual effects at the 90th Academy Awards and best special visual effects at the 71st British Academy Film Awards. A science fiction film produced in 2017, its shock value is still relevant today. The film depicts the ultimate battle between the apes and a human army led by the colonel. When the cruel colonel led his army to attack the apes, the apes paid a heavy price in the battle. Filled with rage and seeking revenge, the leader of the apes went into the enemy camp and saved his own race. However, he was severely wounded by the man who had been released by him and finally led the apes into their beautiful homeland. The film has a strong sense of individual heroism. The film contrasts the love shown by the apes and the cruelty of humans.
Man that is in honour, and understandeth not, is like the beasts that perish.（Psalm 49：20）If there is no love, hearts will be enveloped by darkness. All the goodness of the world cannot be compared with love. If there is no love, even if there is material wealth, it will only make people live a dull life, especially in marriage. Even if life is guaranteed by affluence, you lose the taste of happiness. It’s penny wise and pound foolish.
In this busy world, there are many people who marry on the basis of money. Because their marriages lack love, they are full of pain and hurt. Happiness seems to be out of reach. These are the regrets of life. Let us, God's people, consider the Word of the Lord: Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.（Hebrews 13：4） There are people in the world who do not regard fornication as a shameful sin. It's wrong and it needs to be repented of, for such things sin against the body, and are not pleasing to God.
The film has an ironic meaning, that is, the sinner is even inferior to the animal. When the leader of the apes chose to forgive the enemy at the last moment, at that moment, people can see the glory of love, and feel compassion and love. When the film tells the story of two human armies fighting against each other, while the apes help each other, and even the traitors of apes repent and give their lives to help their own race, thus achieving the ultimate victory in the battle.
It turns out that love is where all the glory lies. Without love, everything will become ugly, making people worse than animals. At the end of the film, there is a bright spot, that is, the children of human beings play with the children of apes, which symbolizes that the hope of human beings in the future is to be in harmony with nature rather than hostile to it. Nature also affects human survival and development.
