The Shanghai Pudong New District People's Court has released their decision regarding the copyright infringement case filed by Walt Disney and Pixar against Chinese firms G-point and Bluemtv.

The court found the two Chinese firms guilty of copyright infringement and cited that the 'K1' and 'K2' characters from the two Chinese firms' film 'The Autobots' were infringed copies of Disney and Pixar's 'Cars' and 'Cars 2' characters 'Lightning McQueen' and 'Francesco Bernoulli.' The court also said that the posters from 'Cars' and 'The Autobots' are similar and it created a room for unfair business practices.

According to the report of China Daily, Bluemtv has been ordered by the court to pay 1 million yuan of the overall 1.35 million yuan while G-point will be paying the remaining 350,000 yuan. The court said that it is necessary both pay a fine to cater to the claimant's general losses incurred because of this issue.

The Chinese firms are also ordered to pay 350,000 yuan to the claimant for any legal expenses they incurred during the hearing.

The court did rule against Disney and Pixar's allegations regarding the title of the Chinese movie as the title had a different meaning and should not be considered as an unfair competition.
