A church in East China’s Shandong Province celebrated the 100th anniversary of its building.
During a Sunday service in Shengli Road Church, Yantai City, Rev. Gao Ming, director of Shandong TSPM, preached a sermon titled "Be Transformed by the Renewing of Your Mind" on December 11, citing Romans12:1-5, said Yantai CC&TSPM.
Pastor Gao urged believers to dig into the century-old history of the development of the church, learn from the spirit of self-sacrifice and dedication of the older generation of pastors, as well as inherit and carry forward the traditional culture of the independent church. He reminded pastoral staff to build a new-age church after God’s heart by adhering to the principle of developing Christianity in the Chinese context and strengthening communication and unity with those Christians who had different opinions.
Introducing the century-old history of the church, Rev. Yu Lei, chairman and president of Yantai CC&TSPM, pointed out that as the oldest surviving China Christian Independent Church in Shandong Province, the church manifested the fine tradition of self-sustaining and self-supporting.
