To prevent any further spread of the virus and ensure the safety of believers, all churches in Xiamen, Fujian, started to cease in-person gatherings.

On its official WeChat account, Zhushu Church in Xiamen on Tuesday reminded its members to attend virtual service on Sunday morning till further notice, as all face-to-face services have been suspended following the guidelines of Xiamen CC&TSPM.

On the same day, Trinity Church in the city announced that from that day forth it would implement “double suspensions”, which refers to suspending the opening of the church, and all services and weekday gatherings, including choir rehearsal.
