A training course was held in Beijing for authors, editors, and reporters from CCC&TSPM’s flagship magazine, Tianfeng or the Heavenly Wind.
The course was conducted on May 28-31, attended by nearly 60 people from churches in 24 provinces and 12 seminaries, said CCC&TSPM.
Rev. Wu Wei, president of the China Christian Council (CCC), emphasized that the authors of Tianfeng should adhere to the direction of the sinicization of Christianity, which is essential for the transmission of Christianity in China. Wu hoped that the writers would engage in theological reflection in the new era and create more works that align with the promotion of Christianity in the Chinese context, so as to nurture believers and grow the church in China.
The training course included five specialized lectures and work-sharing sessions, including "Outline of the Five-Year Work Plan for Further Advancing the Sinicization of Christianity (2023-2027)" given by Rev. Geng Weizhong, vice president of CCC; "Strengthening the Administration of Internet Religious Affairs According to Law" by Wang Tao; "My Twelve Years with Tianfeng" by Shan Weixiang, vice chairman of TSPM; "An Introduction to the History and Current Status of Tianfeng" by Hao Zhiqiang, deputy secretary-general of TSPM and editor-in-chief of Tianfeng; and "An Introduction to the Publishing and Distribution Ministry of CCC&TSPM" by the staff Chen Hongli. Attendees were divided into three groups for in-depth discussions on these topics.
Currently, Tianfeng has over 400 regular contributors. Based on their attitude towards submission, quality, and quantity of manuscripts, the editorial department awarded the Newcomer Award to five people and the Column Award to three people. Some awardees shared their writing insights and experiences.
