An academic forum titled "Research on the Development of Chinese Religious Studies in the New Era" and the annual meeting of the Chinese Association of Religious Studies rolled out in Chengdu, Sichuan.
During the conference on August 26th, in the keynote speech session, Zheng Xiaoyun, president of the Chinese Association of Religious Studies and director of the Institute of World Religions of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, delivered a speech titled "Guidance, Harmony, Moistening, Transformation: Theoretical Reflections on Promoting Sinicization of Religion in China," reported the WeChat account of the SARA (China's State Administration for Religious Affairs). She emphasized the need to strengthen the construction of the "guidance" system, adhere to the principles of "harmony," utilize the function of "moistening," and achieve the goal and effect of "transformation."
Subsequently, seven experts and scholars, including Prof. Zhuo Xinping from the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Prof. Gai Jianmin from Sichuan University's Institute of Taoist and Religious Culture, and Prof. Fu Youde, director of the Center for Judaic and Inter-Religious Studies at Shandong University, gave talks around the theme of "Promoting Localization of Religion in China." Their talks covered contemporary religious studies, the discipline, and talent development in religious studies. They discussed subjects such as "The Predicament and Hope of Contemporary Religious Studies," "The Historical Status and Modern Value of Taoist Culture from the Perspective of Different Interpretative Models of the Confucian-Taoist-Buddhist Relationship," "The Jewish Amidah and Its Significance in Cultural Studies," "Writing the 'New History of Religion' from the Perspective of Sinicization of Religion," "Consideration of Taoism as an Empirical Religion in Religious Studies," "Sinicization of Christianity and the Transformation of Chinese Churches" and "An Outline of the Contemporary Interpretation of Taoist Doctrines."
Following the keynote speeches, the forum proceeded with discussions in four parallel sessions focusing on "Further Advancing Research on the Sinicization of Religion in China," "Construction of a Religious Studies System With Chinese Characteristics," "Research on Major Theoretical and Practical Issues in the Field of Religion," and "Special Topics in Religious Studies Theory."

“新时代中国宗教学的发展研究”学术论坛暨中国宗教学会年会在成都开幕。
据“微言宗教”公众号,8月26日的会议中,主旨发言环节,中国宗教学会会长、中国社会科学院世界宗教研究所所长郑筱筠以《“导”“和”“润”“化”——深入推进我国宗教中国化的几点理论思考》为题,说到要加强“导”的体系建设,顺应“和”的规律,发挥“润”的作用,形成“化”的目标和效果,如此才能深入推进我国宗教中国化。
随后,中国社会科学院学部委员卓新平研究员、四川大学道教与宗教文化研究所盖建民教授、山东大学犹太教与跨宗教研究中心主任傅有德教授等七位专家学者围绕“深入推进我国宗教中国化”的主旨,对当代宗教学研究、宗教学学科及队伍建设发表讲解。分别讲解了《论当代宗教学的困境与希望》、《从儒道释三教关系的几种主要诠释模式看道教文化的历史地位及其现代价值》、《犹太教〈立祷文〉及其文化学意义》、《宗教中国化视角下的“新宗教史”书写》、《宗教研究应考虑道教是实证性宗教》、《基督教中国化与中国基督教的转型》以及《〈道教教义思想的当代诠释〉论纲》。
主旨发言后,本次论坛在四个分会场分别以“深入推进我国宗教中国化研究”、“中国特色宗教学体系建设”、“宗教领域重大理论和现实问题研究”,“宗教学理论专题研究”为题进行研讨。
