Three Jiangsu churches released notices to halt celebrations at Christmas, following the guidelines of higher authorities.

On its official WeChat account on Tuesday, Changzhou Church in Jiangsu stated that Christmas Eve worship services would be suspended while other activities will remain unaffected. Churchgoers are reminded to welcome the birth of Jesus at home in accordance with the church’s pandemic prevention and control measures, according to the church.

On the same day, Huaihai West Road Church and Enyi Church which is affiliated with Dongyuan Church in Xuzhou, Jiangsu, announced a lockdown on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day but will conduct in-person Sunday services as usual on December 26.
