Shandong CC&TSPM Donates to Local Flood-Stricken Areas

自9月27日以来，黄河接连出现第1号、第2号洪水，在洪水退水过程尚未结束的10月5日又出现第3号洪水，黄河防汛形势愈加严峻。山东省泰安市东平县的东平湖连续多日超警戒水位运行，东平湖的金山坝出现了57处渗水和石坡坍塌险情，东平县防汛抗旱指挥部启动了防汛Ⅲ级应急响应。因再次受到强降雨影响，东平县等地部分乡镇农田出现大面积内涝，农民遭受严重损失。

为助力抗战在一线的官兵和灾区群众做好抗洪工作，10月8日上午，山东省基督教两会全体教职员工在二楼会议室举行了为灾区的祈祷与捐款活动。

首先，省基督教协会总干事王孟坤牧师向大家详细介绍了灾区的受灾情况以及原因，然后，高牧师号召大家积极为灾区祷告与奉献，在她的动员和带领下，全体班子成员与教职员工纷纷参与捐款活动，截至当日下午5点，共计捐款10897元。

On September 27, China launched a level III emergency response for flood controls, as water levels of the Yellow River, the country’s second-longest river, continued to rise following heavy rainfall, according to China Daily.  

The flow rate of the Yellow River in Shandong reached 5,000 cubic meters a second and the flow had maintained that speed for about 15 days. Fifty-seven cases of dangerous water seepage and rock slope collapses had occurred around Dongping Lake in Dongping county, Shandong, Xinhua News Agency reported on October 7.

Due to the impact of heavy rainfall, once again, large areas of waterlogging occurred in some townships in Dongping County and other places, causing severe losses among farmers.

The pastoral staff and leaders of Shandong CC&TSPM gathered to pray and make donations last Friday, to help the frontline soldiers and the affected people to fight the floods, according to Shandong CC&TSPM.

As of 5 pm that day, 10,897 yuan in total was raised.
