A Dalian church in Liaoning Province resumed its in-person services last Sunday after months of suspension due to COVID-19.
In the morning, the staff of the 98-year-old Yuguang Street Church in Zhongshan District arrived early at the church, working with each other following the division of labor among themselves. In accordance with the measures of pandemic prevention and control, the co-workers emerged to check the congregation's health codes, temperature, and recent itineraries, register personal information and disinfect their hands.
Arriving at the church at 5:30 a.m., some believers formed a long line, waiting to enter the church. Due to pandemic prevention requirements, some had to sit in the courtyard outside the sanctuary, for the church inside could not accommodate many believers, as they should sit down with an obligatory empty seat separating them from each other in the sanctuary and auxiliary hall.
In the courtyard, some took notes without sitting, while some were seated to read the Bible or communicate with each other. Staying in front of the offering box, old churchgoers put their tithes and offerings into it.
With the singing of the choir and sacred music, the first service began. In the service presided over by Brother Wang Xu, Rev. Huang Guan shared a sermon titled "Have You Met the Resurrected Lord?"
