The Fourth "Harmony" Symposium and the Academic Seminar on Systematically Promoting the Sinicization of Religion in China was held in Haidian District, Beijing.
Emphasizing theoretical research, interpretation, and practical exploration of the sinicization of religion, participants discussed new measures, experiences, and pathways on August 24, providing theoretical guidance and insights for the high-quality development of religious work in Beijing in the new era, said China's State Administration for Religious Affairs.
The symposium was jointly organized by the Beijing Municipal Ethnic and Religious Affairs Commission and the Institute of World Religions at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.
At the symposium, 15 experts and scholars from universities and research institutions such as Peking University, Minzu University of China, and the Institute of World Religions, as well as representatives from the religious community, shared their research results and vivid case studies, exploring implementation pathways. Their discussions and keynote speeches contributed to systematically developing religion in the Chinese context with wisdom and strength.
The symposium also featured a concurrent exhibition titled "The Beauty of Harmony, The Path of Coexistence—Beijing Religious Culture and Art Exhibition," which displayed calligraphy, paintings, and photographs of sinicized religious architecture.
Over 360 participants attended the conference, including relevant government officials, experts and scholars from universities and research institutions, religious figures, and other related personnel from diverse fields.
