A centennial church in Liaoning Province has established a fellowship of tea ceremony as a platform for building connections and gospel outreach.
In the early summer of 2023, Dalian Yuguang Church set up two new fellowships, the "Tea Ceremony Fellowship" and the "Paper-cut Fellowship," during the renovation of the cultural exhibition hall of church history and the sinicization of Christianity.
On March 16, the gathering took place under the theme “Start Children Off on the Way They Should Go,” featuring entrepreneur Brother Gao's sharing on how to choose the best educational resources for children from the various available.
Rooted in China’s originating history of tea culture, the "Tea Ceremony Fellowship" seeks to combine the traditional Chinese tea ceremony and paper-cutting culture with Christian culture to worship, praise, and evangelize in a new form.
Mr. Wang Xu, leader of the fellowship, said that the plan of the "Tea Ceremony Fellowship" is to hold a monthly event, aiming to invite a spiritually mature Christian to share, especially those who acquire a professional skill, like doctors, lawyers, psychological counselors, or engineers. Topics will include marriage and family, children's education, and artificial intelligence (AI). For instance, the fifth-month courses will explore topics such as "What Is the Biggest Question Man Is Thinking?" and "Tea Ceremony Training: Eight Forms From the Gospel on Disciplines, Cultivation, and Experience," while the seventh-month sessions will delve into "What Is the Relationship Between Jesus and Me?" and "Special Course: Pu'er Tea Drinking DIY."
