President Erik Burklin of China Partner (CP) from the United States met Rev. Wu Wei, president of the China Christian Council (CCC).
During the meeting on September 8, both sides recalled their friendship and cooperation with testimonies of God’s work, reported CCC&TSPM. They expressed their commitment to continue supporting each other in the future, responding to God's blessings with more positive witnesses.
Rev. Wu introduced the challenges and measures faced by the Church of China in pastoral care, theological education, and talent development in response to changing times. He shared the ongoing work of indigenizing Christianity in China, expounding on its connotation, significance, and goals. He also emphasized the need to adapt to the social context while sticking to fundamental beliefs, and he encouraged Chinese Christians to bear witness to God.
Mr. Erik Burklin stated that several generations of CP had deep feelings for China and witnessed China's development over the past decades. CP will continue to uphold the three-self course of self-preaching, self-governing, and self-supporting, generating positive publicity for the Church in China and providing ongoing support and assistance for its ministry.
Founded in 1989 by Dr. Werner Bürklin, who was born in China and is the son of German missionaries within the China Inland Mission, the organization was first named Werner Bürklin Evangelistic Ministry and later renamed China Partner in 1999.
