China Christian Council and Three-Self Patriotic Movement Committee (CCC&TSPM) and the Mandarin Churches of the Four Denominations in Singapore held a video exchange meeting.
On January 10th, they shared and exchanged the situations of the churches in the two countries after the COVID-19 pandemic and discussed ministries such as theological thinking and the sinicization of Christianity in the post-pandemic era.
The exchange meeting was led by Bishop Low Jee King, who is a member of the Mandarin Churches of the Four Denominations in Singapore. Rev Goh Nai Lat, who is the head of the Chrisitan alliance, first congratulated the opening of the Holy Trinity Cathedral in Shanghai on December 12, 2022. He hoped this video exchange meeting would help keep the two sides' friendship strong, and that the Chinese side would pay a visit to Singapore.
Rev. Xu Xiaohong, chairman of the National TSPM in China, said that after three years of the pandemic, China needs to figure out how the church will grow in the post-pandemic era. Pastor Xu emphasized that the Chinese church is currently promoting the sinicization of Christianity, with the fundamental purpose of enabling Chinese people to accept Christianity. By integrating Christian culture with China's outstanding traditional culture, the campaign can completely change the image of "foreign religion." Pastor Xu also thanked the Mandarin Churches of the Four Denominations in Singapore for donating money to the Chinese church during the lockdown and invited them to visit after the pandemic.
During the sharing and exchange session, Rev Goh Nai Lat suggested that CCC&TSPM consider inviting some overseas Chinese churches to participate in the research and communication of the sinicization of Christianity, in order to promote greater understanding and participation in the campaign.
