Since 2015, Tencent’s 99 Giving Day has been an annual nationwide charity event jointly organized by the Tencent Charity Foundation, public welfare and charitable organizations, consumers, businesses, and the media in response to China's "Chinese Charity Day" on September 5th each year.
Agape Foundation in Shanghai, Reed’s Home Volunteer Service Center in Zhenjiang, Jiangsu, Beatitudes Foundation in Hainan, and Children's Hope Foundation in Henan, have released information stating that they will launch fundraising campaigns from September 7th to September 9th. The Tencent Foundation will support each of these campaigns with a random matching donation in order to benefit their respective charity endeavors.
The Shanghai Agape Foundation is to provide assistance to disadvantaged groups, children with ear, nose, throat, head, and neck surgical diseases, and cancer patients. Among them, this charitable project will support the training and competitions of breast cancer recovery patients in the dragon boat team.
The Reed Home Volunteer Service Center has launched a project to help people with disabilities find employment. According to the introduction, the project plans to provide employment opportunities for disabled individuals and families who are willing and capable of working through vocational skill training, exploring new models for vocational education, employment guidance, supply-demand matching, resource integration, and employment rights protection. This includes institutional employment, internet-based employment, community-based employment, and home-based employment.
The Beatitudes Foundation has initiated a project to assist patients with thalassemia. The goal is to support the treatment and recovery of patients through medical fee assistance, living allowance subsidies, and educational outreach. The ultimate aim is to achieve the goal of "zero incidence of thalassemia" in the Hainan region.
Children's Hope Foundation has once again launched a campaign to build "little homes" for families seeking medical treatment. According to the introduction, this project was initiated in 2011 and aims to provide transitional accommodation, self-service kitchens, medical coordination, psychological counseling, postoperative recovery, and individual fundraising assistance for critically ill children and their families receiving medical treatment away from home. Up to now, the project has established 43 "little homes" in 11 cities, including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Fuzhou, Zhangzhou, Zhengzhou, Xi'an, Urumqi, Kunming, and Nanning, having helped over 5,000 families.
