A church in northeast China held a praise celebration for the 20th anniversary of the dedication.
This celebration was held at the Victory Church in Taian County, Anshan City, by believers not only from this church but also from Daniu Church, Huandong Church, Datai Church, Xinhua Church, Sanglin Church, Huangsha Church, and Fujia Church on August 10.
Elder Yu Li, vice chairman of the TSPM and head of the Xinkaihe Church in Taian, shared a sermon on the theme of “Building the Temple of the Soul,” exhorting the congregation to build not only a physical temple but also a temple of the soul.
On behalf of the church, Elder Shi Xiuchen, the head of the church, reviewed the 20th anniversary of the dedication of the church, which has grown from more than ten believers at the beginning to more than 300 believers now. “Do you remember the contribution we all made to the construction of the temple—ten thousand yuan for you and five thousand yuan for me? Do you remember that we spent our limited funds on the pulpit, the internal and external walls, and the installation of various audio and projection equipment? Do you remember we installed boilers, expanded the church annex, and built a fence in order to provide a better gathering environment?”
Then the believers performed more than 30 programs, including poems, a mother-daughter chorus, a husband-wife chorus, a fan dance, and a waist drum. Chen Fuxian, the head of Daniu Church, led the congregation to perform the scene drama “Many Sheep”.
The fellowship and praise celebration involved more than 200 actors and pastoral co-workers from each church.
