Rev. Xu Xiaohong, chairman of the Three-Self Patriotic Movement (TSPM), conducted a survey of the Church in Gansu Province and delivered a special lecture.

On April 17–19, Pastor Xu carried out an investigation and delivered a speech with the title "Do a Good Job in Religious Work in the New Era and Adhere to the Direction of Sinicization of Christianity", reported CCC&TSPM.

With Sun Xuetao, head of the United Front Work Department of the Gansu Provincial Committee of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), Xu exchanged views on church ministry in Gansu and related topics of concern to both sides. During the seminar, he inquired with members of Guansu CC&TSPM about personnel training, pastoral care, group self-construction, and how they implement church regulations and develop Christianity in the Chinese context.

Pastor Xu encouraged them to tell Chinese church stories by integrating excellent traditional Chinese culture to sinicize Christianity, as well as continue to carry out charity and social services.
