Shaanxi Provincial CC&TSPM held the preaching exchange meeting with the theme of "advocating frugality and forbidding extravagance" by the 2022 theological construction propaganda group.
On June 8, China Christian Council & the Three-Self Patriotic Movement Committee and six other state-sanctioned religious bodies issued a joint initiative on "advocating frugality and abstaining from extravagance" to promote the Sinicization of religion in China.
In the auditorium of Shaanxi Bible School on November 16, Rev. Wang Jun, chairman and president of the provincial CC&TSPM, pointed out that the preaching exchange meeting was an important starting point for strengthening the construction of theological thought and promoting the sinicization of Christianity. This would effectively guide the preaching work in the pulpit, help believers establish a correct view of the Bible and lead a healthy spiritual life, and promote the healthy inheritance and development of the church.
Based on the reality of the church, seven pastors proposed that Christians lead a simple and restrained life referring to the excellent Chinese traditional culture. They preached on the topics of "Luxury leads to evil, fairness promotes well-being", "Actively engaged in advocating frugality and forbidding extravagance", "Being happy with a contented mind, advocating frugality and abstaining from extravagance", "Understanding the relationship between Christians and material things from the Lord's Prayer", "Being a contented godly person", "Keeping your heart with all diligence - advocating frugality and forbidding extravagance" and "Leading a simple living before the son of God".
