A house church in Putian, Fujian Province was banned for being found in violation of conducting activities in the name of a social group without authorization.

Berea Church was shut down by the Putian Bureau of Civil Affairs on September 26, said the announcement released by the local authorities.

It claimed, “Upon investigation, ‘Berea’ Church which was not registered carried out activities in the name of a social group without authorization. This violated Article 32 of Regulation on the Administration of the Registration of Social Organizations and Article 2 of the Interim Measures for Banning Illegal Non-Governmental Organizations.”
