On the evening of January 3, the first lecture of "Martin Luther and the Third Enlightenment Forum" (Season 3) was held under the theme of “Luther and Thinkers”.
Previously, Season 1 and Season 2 had ended in 2021.
As the initiator of the forum, Professor Paul Huang from Shanghai University said that the name "Martin Luther and the Third Enlightenment" served two main purposes. The first one aimed to give an academic lecture series so as to illustrate one item - Martin Luther was not only a religious reformer and theologian, but also had an important impact on thought and history. This could help find and explore Luther's position in the history of thought. For the second purpose, the reason why it was called the "Third Enlightenment” was that there were previous enlightenments, namely the Enlightenment of Europe and the enlightenment of Chinese from 1919 to 1978.
"In the context of globalization in the 21st century, we are particularly concerned about the characteristics of Chinese context under the background of globalization," Huang added.
The theme of Season 3 is "Luther and Thinkers” including ten lectures, each covering the relationship between one thinker and Martin Luther. The topics of the ten lectures are as follows: Moltmann and Luther, Erasmus and Luther, Barth and Luther, Hobbes and Luther, Luther's political reform, Kierkegaard and Luther, Spinoza and Luther, Calvin and Luther, Dionysus and Luther, etc.
The ten lectures will be held frequently from early January to early February.

1月3日晚上，马丁·路德与第三次启蒙论坛（第3季）第一讲已经顺利举行，据悉，第3季的主题是“路德与思想家”。
此前，马丁·路德与第三次启蒙论坛第1季和第2季已经在2021年顺利结束。
论坛发起人来自上海大学的黄保罗教授说，之所以采用“马丁·路德与第三次启蒙”来命名这个论坛，主要有两个目的，第一个目的是想要进行学术的系列讲座，想要解决一个问题——马丁·路德他不仅仅是一名宗教改革家和神学家，而且也在思想、历史等方面也都产生了重要的影响，所以想要在思想史论坛中通过讲座来寻找和挖掘马丁·路德在思想史中的地位。第二个目的则是，之所以称之为“第三次启蒙”，则是因为前面有两次启蒙，分别是欧洲的启蒙和汉语1919年—1978年这两次启蒙。而在21世纪全球化的语境中，我们特别关注的是全球化背景之下的汉语语境特点。
第3季的主题是“路德与思想家”，共有十讲，基本上每一讲都会讲解一名思想家与马丁·路德的关系。十讲的主题分别是莫尔特曼与路德、伊拉斯谟与路德、巴特与路德、霍布斯与路德、路德的政治改革、克尔凯郭尔与路德、斯宾诺莎与路德、加尔文与路德、狄奥尼索斯与路德等。这十次讲座降在1月初到2月初的一个多月的时间里面比较密集地进行。
