Churches in Shanxi, Jiangsu Roll Out Peace Prayer Meeting to Mark 76th Anniv of V-J Day

今年是中国人民抗日战争暨世界反法西斯战争胜利76周年，为进一步加强广大基督徒爱国主义教育，8月29日，山西省基督教两会发布通知，倡议全省各地市基督教两会（筹备组）根据当地实际情况，在符合当地疫情防控要求的前提下，以小型分散的形式开展相关和平祈祷活动。

9月2日，常州市基督教堂发布活动程序单，该堂将于9月3日晚19点举行纪念中国人民抗日战争暨世界反法西斯抗战胜利76周年和平祷告会。此次祷告会主题为“世界和平”，副题围绕“止息瘟疫”“行主正道”“认识耶稣”“开学祈祷”等内容展开，证道题目为《做和平的使者》，由该堂彭圣洁牧师进行证道。

To mark the 76th anniversary of Victory over Japan Day and the World Anti-Fascist War which falls on September 3, Shanxi Provincial CC&TSPM on August 29 initiated peace prayer meetings in forms of decentralization among the municipal CC&TSPMs, following the COVID-19 protocols.

In the program list released by Changzhou Church in Jiangsu on September 2, the church also launched the same prayer meetings with the theme "Peace in the World" last Friday, with sub-topics of "Stop the Plague", "Walk in the Lord’s ways", "Know Jesus", and "Pray for School Opening". There was also a sermon titled "To be a Messenger of Peace" from Rev. Peng Shengjie

Other registered churches across China conducted similar prayers meetings to remember the "V-J Day".
