Xingsheng Church in Anshan, Liaoning Province, reopened on March 18.
Beforehand, the church used more than 10,000 yuan to purchase electronic equipment which could conduct security inspection and check body temperature.
Arriving at the church at 6 o'clock in the morning, the staff of the service team threw themselves into the work of security inspection, temperature measurement, disinfection, sterilization and guidance for the churchgoers.
Believers in attendance were not only from this church or other churches in the city that had not reopened but also from contiguous cities and counties dozens of kilometers away.
Two sisters said, "Thank God for being able to attend the service today, which we have hoped for since the church closed several months ago." Up the stairs of the church were two senior female faithful, hand-in-hand, who were at the ages of 74 and 84.
During the service, about 10 seekers responded with the sinners' prayer and received brief training from church staff.
After the gathering, while familiar churchgoers said peace to each other, Elder Xu Ling and Rev. Jiang Mao continued to receive believers who were late for church service. The staff of the service team cleaned the sanctuary while other staff workers made brief exchanges.
