A Jilin church donated masks to children as primary and secondary schools officially reopened Monday due to an improved COVID-19 situation.
The Dongfeng County in Liaoyuan City, Jilin Province, began to resume production and work, although the registered churches still implemented the policy of "two suspensions", which refers to "closing religious activity sites and suspending collective religious gatherings".
The Nanzhan Church in Dongfeng County distributed the masks to minors from February 22 to 24. The activity included two parts. Some volunteers contacted the parents to pick up masks from the church if their children needed them; some visited needy families to provide masks to the children.
The parents were very happy to receive the masks from the church staff, saying, "This is perfect timing for these gifts since the children can make use of the masks as school reopens."
The church presented a total of 6450 masks of very good quality, and each child obtained a box of 50 pieces.
