In autumn and winter every year, due to the dry weather and strong wind, fires are likely to occurr in the northeast region of China. Therefore, it is very important to do firefighting work in these seasons.
The leaders of Nanzhang Church in Dongfeng County of Liaoyuan City, Jilin Province, see that fire prevention is very important. Fire drills are held every quarter to raise believers’ awareness of fire safety and to improve their ability to protect and escape in case of fire.
Before the drill was held in the fourth quarter of this year, Su Xin, an instructor from Jilin Ju'an Fire Station, was invited to explain fire safety to the believers. Through some examples and pictures, he explained the seriousness of fires and corrected some wrong methods of dealing with the fires. Through his explanation, the believers learned about the seriousness of fires, and how to prevent and deal with a fire. After the lecture, instructor Su also gave instructions on how to use fire extinguishers and they were able to practice. Finally, a drill was carried out according to the plan. After the drill, the believers were evacuated quickly and orderly under the guidance of the organizers.
Senior Pastor Liu Xuesong of the church said the leaders needed to pay attention to fire safety in the church and provide believers with a safe environment for worship.
In addition to regular fire drills, the church also invested funds to buy fire-fighting equipment, made a fire-fighting plan and organized a team for fire prevention.

在开始演练之前，特别邀请了吉林市居安消防中心苏鑫教官为信徒讲解了消防安全知识。苏教官通过火灾实例和图片，从多个角度，讲解了火灾的严重性，并纠正了在处理火灾过程中的一些错误方法。通过讲解，使信徒们都认识到火灾的可怕性和严重性，增强防范火灾的意识。授课之后，苏教官还通过实际操作，介绍了各种灭火材的使用方式。最后，按消防预案进行了演练，参加演练的信徒在消防组的引导和指挥下，迅速有序的撤离疏散。
东丰堂主任刘雪松牧师说，宗教场所应该高度重视消防安全工作，努力为信徒提供一个安全的信仰生活环境。
为此，东丰堂定期进行消防演练，并且投入资金完善了消防设备，组织了消防组，制定了消防预案。
