A megachurch in Guangdong hosted its fifth storytelling event, themed “Listening to the Stories in the Psalms.”
It was jointly organized at Zion Church by the Evening Sacrifice Choir and the Evangelization Team on October 26. Through pastoral sharing, personal stories, psalm recitations, and hymn singing, the session aimed to convey the beauty of the gospel message.
Rev. Huang Zhengqi gave a talk titled “Stories in the Psalms,” where he introduced the historical context of the Psalms and highlighted their role in church tradition, as well as their importance in personal spiritual life. He explained that the Psalms are not only songs of praise to God but also channels for believers to express their emotions in diverse life circumstances. The language and imagery in the Psalms, he noted, help believers deepen their relationship with God through prayer and meditation. Huang encouraged attendees to meditate on the Psalms in their daily devotions, drawing strength and comfort from the Scriptures.
The event concluded with the hymn “Children of God How Blessed You Are.” A total of 120 people attended that evening, including 35 seekers, of whom 14 made commitments to Christ, and one signed up for the catechism class.
