Three pastoral staff were ordained as pastors at a church in Guangdong Province, located in south China.
The Guangdong CC&TSPM held an ordination ceremony at Dongshan Church in Jieyang City last Sunday. The ceremony was attended by more than 300 believers and students from advanced courses in Jieyang, according to the provincial CC&TSPM.
Rev. Lin Enling, general secretary of Guangdong TSPM and general director of Guangdong CC, delivered a sermon titled "The Duty of Pastors," urging these pastoral staff about to be ordained to serve faithfully as shepherds and to be God's worthy workers.
Rev. Fan Hongen, chairman of the Guangdong TSPM, hosted the laying-on of hands ceremony and offered words of encouragement. Rev. Xu Jieping, executive vice chairman of Guangdong TSPM and chairman of Jieyang TSPM, then appointed them as pastors.
Jieyang City has 83 churches with more than 40,000 believers. With the ordination of these three pastoral staff, the number of pastors in Jieyang Church has increased to 37. This will expand the team of pastors and further the growth of the church and its ministries.
