In Flower Lane Church, Fuzhou, Fujian Province, on July 3, the 94-year-old Rev. Chen Yiping from Trinity Church in Xiamen was invited to give a sermon titled "Running Out of Wine", with hymns of "Jesus Lord, My Best Love Thou Art" and "The Eternal Love — The Seven Last Words" from a choir in Xiamen.
Born in 1927, Rev. Chen at a young age lived in Gulangyu, Xiamen, with his ancestral home in Nan'an, Quanzhou, Fujian. He began to learn how to administer teeth fillings after graduating when Heping County was liberated on September 17, 1949.
At that time, while working as an apprentice, Chen also engaged in developing Xiaoxi Chapel together with Pastor Zheng Zhengzhang. He went to find believers in villages and towns to lead them back to the church, setting up Heping County TSPM and serving as the first chairman.
In 1957, after graduating from the Yanjing Union Theological Seminary, Chen served in Trinity Church, Gulangyu, Xiamen, as a pastor. Soon after, he was mistakenly classified as a "rightist" and underwent reform through labor for 20 years, building railways in Sanming of Fujian, Ningxia, and other places. He returned to serve in Trinity Church after he was rehabilitated in 1979.
Once appointed as chairman of Xiamen CC&TSPM and senior pastor of Trinity Church, after retiring, he carried out a series of activities of training pastors, elders, deacons, and church volunteers, as well as pastoral care for believers, "traveling all over the city and countryside". He often said, "rural missions are my greatest burden."

今天（7月3日）福州基督教花巷堂的主日，厦门三一堂94岁高龄的陈以平牧师以《酒用尽了》为题讲道。

以平兄于1927年出生，现年94岁，祖籍福建泉州，少年就在厦门鼓浪屿生活。1949年9月17日平和解放，以平兄刚从学校毕业，20岁了还找不到工作，大姨夫让在家乡待业的以平兄到小溪跟姨夫学“补牙”。
当年，以平兄一边当学徒，一边还到小溪礼拜堂，与郑正章传道一道为助兴教会做了大量工作，不辞劳苦下农村、乡镇入户找回信徒，领信徒回神的家，组建平和县三自爱国会，任首届主席。
1957年以平兄从“燕京协和神学院”毕业后到鼓浪屿三一堂后任传道，不久被错划成右浱，戴上了右派帽子，到福建三明、宁夏等地修铁路，劳动改造近20年。直到1979年才平反，又回厦门三一堂侍奉……
以平兄曾任厦门市基督教两会主席、厦门市鼓浪屿基督教三一堂主任牧师。退休后的他“跑遍城乡”，开展牧师传道、长老执事、堂会义工培训，信徒的培灵等一系列工作，他常说“农村宣教是他最大的负担”。
正如厦门基督教竹树堂（平和籍）蓝美华牧师所说的“陈老牧师真厉害，九十多岁了还到处讲道，为他感谢主！”
