Affected by the current wave of the coronavirus outbreak in Changzhou, church staff in China’s eastern-coastal Jiangsu Province put themselves forward as volunteers for the COVID-19 response.
Learning that Tianning District needed a large number of volunteers to conduct nucleic acid testing, Changzhou Church in Jiangsu Province applied to the community to participate in the campaign, the church reported.
In response to the call of the church which received approval, more than a dozen believers on March 15 assisted with nucleic acid tests in several communities of the city, where all churches had suspended in-person gatherings starting from March 13.
The next day, the church donated 400 packs of instant noodles and tea eggs to frontline workers of a local community.
According to the website of Changzhou Municipal Government, from 24:00 to 15:00 last Sunday, the city reported 38 asymptomatic infections without confirmed cases.
