Zhejiang, Jiangsu Churches Close During Chinese New Year Holiday Due to COVID-19

1月28日，浙江省杭州市基督教两会公众号发布通知，由于当地发生“奥密克戎”病例，应上级部门要求，杭州市全市基督教活动场所将自通告发布之日起实行双暂停措施，暂停对外开放及一切宗教活动。

1月29日，江苏无锡基督教堂通过微信公众号发布通知，就春节期间聚会安排进行了详细告知。

1月31日至2月7日（除夕至正月初七），该堂将暂停一切聚会。2月8日起，恢复周间聚会。周间每次聚会人数不得超过100人，请参加周间聚会的弟兄姊妹务必严格遵守防疫规定，当进堂人数达到规定人数后即停止准入。

On their official WeChat accounts, two churches in Jiangsu and Zhejiang said that they would suspend face-to-face gatherings during the Chinese New Year Holiday from January 31 to February 7.

On January 28, Hangzhou CC&TSPM in Zhejiang announced it would close and suspend religious activities from that day on, in response to the higher-level department’s requests, as the city found locally transmitted Omicron cases.

According to the Zhejiang Provincial Health Commission, Hangzhou detected 18 new confirmed cases on January 28, with all close contacts being quarantined. As of that date, a total of 2,159 positive cases had been reported, including 366 imported cases.

The next day, Wuxi Church in Jiangsu issued a notice, stating that it would halt onsite gatherings from Chinese New Year Eve to the seventh day of the first lunar month. It declared that meetings from Monday to Friday will resume from February 8, with plans to admit 100 participants. The Sunday services are suspended till further notice.
