Linyi Christian Church in Yuncheng, China's northern Shanxi, held an Easter gala on Sunday in celebration of the resurrection of the Lord.
At 7 o'clock that evening, before the start of the gala, the church was filled with believers from towns and surrounding villages.
The performance party began in the chorus of the choir. First, a short video of "The Passion of Jesus" was played, which reproduced the scene of Jesus being beaten and crucified.
Then dancing, solo singing, poetry, allegro, and many other programs were staged in turns.
In addition to the performances, there were also unique folk-art programs: "Happy Grandma Celebrates the Lord's Resurrection", the allegro "Believing in Jesus is Wonderful" and the sketch "Lottery Storm".
Among those programs, the sketch "Lottery Storm", which depicts two "wicked daughters-in-law" who have completely different attitudes towards their husbands due to a winning lottery ticket, and learned to be filial to the elderly after accepting the gospel, won lots of laughter and applause.
According to the "actor" Yue Yinshan, who is an elder and also the person in charge of the church, all the programs were written, directed, and performed by the co-workers. After a long time of rehearsal and hard work, the traditional culture and gospel were spread.
