The seventh public seminar on Christianity and Social Concerns was held virtually from February 22 to 24.
During the lecture held on the 22nd, a professor surnamed Liu analyzed the internal and external challenges Chinese churches faced, including the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, the influence and social recognition the churches lacked.
During the next day’s morning lecture, a pastor whose last name is Li shared how his team helped the elderly enjoy their remaining years. Through their activities, the elderly in the community got tangible help and improvement in their lives. The pastor said Christians should use practical actions to help those in need.
In the second lecture, Sister Li stated how she used the psychology she had learned to serve those in trouble after following the Lord. Jesus Christ never turned his back on those in need, but always cared for those who needed compassion, love and tolerance. So we should act like Jesus to help those in need.
On the third day, a Christian psychologist emphasized the necessity of professionalism in social care that Christians should show more professionalism and a sense of accomplishment in helping others on basis of Christian faith.
