A few days ago, the pastoral team of the Yaodu District Church in Linfen City, Shanxi Province held a meeting to establish a plan for the pastors for 2021.
As this year’s theme is Hold the Truth and be the Disciple of the Lord, the focus of this year’s pastoral care is to guide Christians in establishing a true Biblical faith and follow the Lord’s footsteps, as there are many uncertainties even in the normalization of the pandemic.
Focusing on discipleship training, the church leaders plan to develop training plans on teaching biblical truth, mentoring disciples, leading church ministris, and evangelism.
The theme of the first quarter is reformation and revival. As January emphasizes a faith-centered life in Christ, February will address the Bible-centered life, and March focus on the power of the Holy Spirit.
With fifteen years of experience and service, the youth fellowship stated its vision as "Equip Yourself to Serve the Church and Society."
To strengthen the work of the fellowship, the church staff established coordinators and attendance administrators to care for newcomers and elderly members who attend few gatherings. New co-workers will be found during worship services to train stable and elderly members.
The work of the visitation ministry will also be standardized to unite the praise and worship fellowship group to help promote the youth ministry. A mission group that will be formed of members from the youth fellowship, the praise fellowship, and the electro-acoustic band will occasionally visit church meeting points to promote youth ministry.
Young Christians will be led in focusing on the combination of personal beliefs, service, and learning from the experience of brother churches, with their personal faith followed up. Activities will be conducted to attract young people, including Bible reading meetings, reading exchanges, and playing information films, recorded courses, and sermons on Saturdays from time to time.
The pastoral team will to promote the serialization and lifestyleization of youth shepherding. In 2021, they will try to hold a curriculum-based and theme-based retreat. In the first half of the year, the young believers will be organized to learn and meditate on 1&2 Samuel, and the Book of Genesis. In the second half of the year, they will host retreats on different themes, such as work, marriage, devotions, faith, life, credit and consumption. Pastors will share and the congregation will hold discussions. A tea party is to be held every quarter to discuss difficult problems which the speakers will discuss and solve.
A timely youth ministry seminar will be held to tell the youth fellowship how to carry out its activities. The development direction of the youth ministry and the relationship between young Christians and the Sinicization of Christianity. They will discuss how to shepherd contemporary young Christians, lead them in evangelising and train youth ministry workers in the post-pandemic era. They will keep a file on the seminar which includes theme-based training, group discussions, exchanges and discussions.
On the afternoon of January 16, the Pastoral Team of the Yaodu District CC&TSPM held a meeting to start the research topic on the Sinicization of Christianity. 推进青年牧养系列化和生活化：2021年计划尝试课程式培灵与主题式培灵，上半年采取课程式培灵，以《撒母耳记》《创世记》默想为主，由讲员分享，成员讨论；下半年为主题式培灵，如工作、婚姻、灵修、信仰、生活、信贷消费等不同主题，讲员分享，会众讨论。每季度组织一次茶话交通会，讨论当季度难点问题，由讲员交流解答。
还将举办适时一次青年事工研讨会，研讨内容主要有：当代青年事工的发展方向，青年团契如何开展活动；青年基督徒如何传福音，青年基督徒与基督教中国化；“后疫情”时代如何牧养、带领当代青年基督徒，建造和培育青年事工工人等，研讨会采取主题培训、分组讨论、交流探讨，并形成图文材料，留档保存。
1月16日下午，尧都区基督教两会教牧组召开会议，启动了推动基督教中国化研讨课题启动方案。课题主要内容主要有三个方面：一是《推进我国基督教中国化工作规划纲要（2021）、二是积极配合区委统战部宗教“中国化”宗教文化研讨论坛和三是配合省市基督教两会年度神学思想建设安排。
