On March 17, 2020, Guangzhou Christian Council & Three-Self Patriotic Movement urged local believers to observe the coming festivals at home.
The pastoral staff and Christians in Guangdong are required to sing hymns and offer prayers in memory of their deceased relatives and friends at home during Qingming and Easter, according to the Initiative on Pandemic Prevention & Control Work.
Private meetings and any activity in cemeteries will be forbidden.
Churches in Guangzhou will remain closed during Easter, which falls on April 12.
Pastors and church staff should be examples and not be involved in any prayer meetings. They should advise believers not to sweep tombs or hold personal gatherings so they avoid infecting others.
Church offices need to tell their congregations to honor and remember their ancestors in their homes and send Lenten devotionals, Easter messages or Bible reflections to them.
广东省基督教两会发布倡议书 谈及清明节和复活节期间疫情防控
3月17日，广东省基督教两会于官网发布了《关于做好清明节及复活节期间疫情防控工作的倡议书》，呼吁全省教牧同工和众弟兄姐妹积极配合，在节期临近时不组织和参与任何形式的墓园省亲祈祷活动，不搞私下小聚会，改为居家唱诗、祷告追思等方式进行缅怀。
以下为倡议书全文：
全省各位教牧同工、弟兄姐妹：
主内平安！
“清明寒食好，春来百花开”。
一年一度的清明节即将到来，紧接着便是教会记念救主耶稣受难及基督复活的日子。
目前国内疫情防控形势正积极向好发展，已取得阶段性重要成果，但防控任务依然艰巨。
随着节期临近，为防止人群聚集，减少病毒传播风险，现倡议全省教牧同工及众弟兄姐妹积极配合，做好清明节及复活节期间的疫情防控工作。
一、认清疫情形势，切实落实防控措施。
全省教牧同工要认真学习习近平总书记关于做好当前新冠肺炎疫情防控工作重要讲话精神，树立大局意识，加强疫情防控必须慎终如始，警惕麻痹思想和松懈心态，坚决守好阵地，确保我省教牧同工及信徒“零感染”，保一方平安。
二、积极引导帮助，教牧同工以身作则。
为保障信徒身体健康，减少人员交叉感染，清明节及复活节期间，我省教会继续落实“双暂停一延迟”措施，所有堂点场所，暂停一切聚会活动。
请各地两会、堂会通过张贴告示或利用微信公众号、朋友圈等发布方式，提前告知并积极引导帮助信徒。
教牧同工应以身作则，不组织和参与任何形式的墓园省亲祈祷活动，劝导信徒不随意前往墓区扫墓，不搞私下小聚会，避免引发因群体性聚集而发生交叉感染的高风险疫情，做好节期安抚工作，彻底消除风险隐患。
三、阐明圣经真理，坚固信心常存盼望。
清明本是慎终追远、缅怀故人之时；而复活节 期是记念耶稣受难并从死里复活带给基督徒盼望的日子。
受疫情影响，我们不能前往墓园思念亲人或前往教会参与公共礼仪感念神恩，教牧同工应透过内部群组或个人牧养方式向信徒阐明圣经的真理，引导信徒居家用唱诗、祷告追思等方式缅怀先祖，述继其美德并存美好盼望（腓4:8，约11:25）；编发受难周默想经课及复活节信息或读经分享等方式让弟兄姐妹善度每日生活，提升信徒灵性生命，坚固信心迎接耶稣基督的复活。
