Kunming has focused on being more civilized since it was nominated for "National Civilized City."

At the same time, Trinity International Church, Beichen Church, Shijicheng Church and Jida Church held a ceremony to mark the launch of Christianity's part in building a civilized city on May 21, 2017, with more than 7,000 people attending.

The churches announced the initiative called "The Beauty of a City Starts with Me," appealing to local Christians to participate in the campaign. A short film with the same name was also played.
