Morning Prayer Meeting on Easter, Beijing

Besides the Sunday service on Easter, morning assembly is an important part of church traditions on Easter. Some churches will call out "Jesus has risen" and give thanking prayer at the cemetery at dawn and some choose to hold different styles of services at dawn.

On March 27, Beijing Haidian Church held a morning prayer meeting at 6am. When the meeting began, there were few members in the sanctuary while volunteers in charge of videos, cameras and lights were busy with preparation. A row of believers kneeled down before the cross, communicating with the Lord in prayers.

In the prayer meeting, a pastor and co-workers led the congregation to pray in turns to commemorate the death and resurrection of Jesus as well as pray for churches and Christians who gather in the name of Christ all over the world.

As the meeting went on, the crowd filled the church.
