A dedication ceremony was held on October 26 for Shancheng Village Church in Fujian, a coastal province in East China.
Rev. Chen Huijiang delivered a sermon titled "The Crowned Church," focusing on three themes: a praying church, a united church, and a loving church. Following the sermon, Pastor Wu Shanguang shared the church's construction history.
In 1998, Rev. Wu Tianci first brought the gospel to Shancheng Village in Zhangpu County, Zhangzhou City, and began providing pastoral care to the village’s first believer, Wu Shanri, who soon became a pastor there. Around the same time, a Christian woman named Chen Shiliu also arrived in the village to share the gospel and support pastoral work. Over the years, the number of believers grew, and the church continued to flourish.
With the support of Rev. Wu Tianci and Chen Shiliu, the church acquired two rooms from the village production team as a temporary gathering point for Sunday services and weekday meetings.
In 2017, Wu Shanguang succeeded his brother Wu Shanri, dedicating himself to serving as a pastor.
In July 2020, following approval from higher authorities, Shancheng Meeting Point became a recognized religious venue.
The original church, a 70-year-old granite building, was deemed unsafe due to its aging structure, prompting a rebuilding project with support from various government departments. Huang Weiqing, a Christian architect from a design firm in Beijing, designed the new church as a multifunctional space for worship, study, and training.
On March 7, 2024, Shancheng Church held a groundbreaking ceremony for the new building, with Rev. Huang Lihong from Beimen Church in Zhangzhou leading prayers at the construction site. Additionally, Chen Ru'ai and other donors contributed funds and gifted two pianos to the new church.
